Photographer and practicing clinical psychologist, Briggie’s “temporary ice paintings” are comprised of ice, paint and water: “A photograph freezes the moment. Ice, light, and water, move, morph, flash, and change. Little pieces of paint take on a life of their own, suddenly exploding, colors streaming everywhere—click—and then they’re gone forever. i am really good at protecting myself. i am really good at being strong, at pushing through a race even though it hurts, at finishing a paper and foregoing sleep, at being strong so i can support others. i’m really bad at initiating. at taking risks. at pushing past the voice in my head that keeps me from trying something. i’m ok with being introverted; i’m not ok with being shy. i need to learn to be confident around people like i’m confident with athletics and schoolwork…
